Obituary

Michael D. Williams, 77, passed away due to natural causes at Northern Montana Hospital on Saturday, April 22, 2023. Cremation has taken place, and memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 5, 2023, at Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel with Pastor Rick Hodshire officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.

Mike was born on August 1, 1945, in Klamath Falls, OR, to Herbert and Thea (Shrauger) Williams, while his dad was serving in the US Marine Corps. Upon Herbert's discharge, the family moved to Havre where Mike was raised, graduating from Havre High School in 1963. In 1965, he married Rosella Converse, and the couple had three children. They both worked for Farm and Ranch, and later purchased the company, naming it Triangle New Holland. Together they ran the company until Rosella passed away in 2004. By 2007, Mike had sold to Torgerson's, but he continued to work as a salesperson until his retirement in 2020. He married Renee Brothers in 2011.

In his earlier years, Mike enjoyed latchhook, puzzles, and taking the family fishing. Later on, he liked to play cards on the computer and watch war and John Wayne movies. Every year, he looked forward to visiting his daughter Michel and her family in South Dakota. He was known by many as the Baler Man. One of his greatest joys were his grandkids and great-grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosella Williams; parents, Herbert and Thea Williams; nephew, Chad Williams; and parents-in-law, Richard and Faye Dudek.

Mike is survived by his wife, Renee (Kidd) Williams of Havre; children, Mike (Rose) Williams of Chinook, Michel (Eric) Drageset of Fort Pierre, SD, and Penny (Matt) McAtee of Havre; stepchildren, Kayla (Chase) Stoner and Cory (Denali Solomon) Brothers, all of Havre: eight grandchildren, Tessa (Adam Taylor) Nystrom, Trent (Rachel) Nystrom, Colten, Andrea, and Terri Jean Drageset, Jacob (Ryen Olson) Williams, Callen Stoner, and Kane Brothers; two great-grandchildren, Timothy and Bradley Nystrom; brother, David (Oma) Williams of Havre; niece Tricia Williams Ferry of Havre; and numerous cousins and other relatives.
