Wyatt Darcel Potts

Wyatt Darcel Potts “Chief Eagle Standing” was born on December 13, 1988, to Renita Joy Potts & Ronald “Ronnie” Baptiste. Wyatt was the youngest of their children. Wyatt had the brightest smile as a child and was always happy to be playing with his siblings and cousins. He attended school in both Maskwacis & Rocky Boy throughout his educational career completing his GED. Wyatt was extremely sociable and was quick to make friends wherever he went. He spent most of his youth between Maskwacis and Rocky Boy, going wherever his mom went.

After a long battle with the challenges of life, Wyatt finished fighting the good fight on Tuesday, October 27, 2026. He was preceded in death by his mother, Renita “Joy” Potts; his father, “Ronnie” Baptiste; siblings, Donovan Potts, Ivan “John Boy” Potts, Leandra Potts, Sasha Potts, and Blanche Bull; nephew, Kree Potts; grandparents, Merle Baptiste, MaryJane Eagleman, and Paul Eagleman; uncles, Gary Eagleman, Stanley Eagleman, Randy Baptiste, Dolphus Baptiste, and Allen Baptiste; aunts, Caroline Gray, Margaret Weaving, Florence Standing Rock, Paulette Eagleman, Cynthia Eagleman, Faith The Boy, Pamela Stiffarm, and Lerita Eagleman; cousins, Victor and Charlie The Boy.

Wyatt leaves behind his eldest daughter, Riley Buffalo of Maskwacis, his youngest daughter Renita Raya Sunshine Omeasoo-Potts Potts, and his baby boy Murray Major Marcus Potts also of Maskwacis; siblings, Coby (Shawna) Potts, Paula Potts, Ronald Baptiste Jr, and Diedre Potts; uncles, Jay (Eleanor) Eagleman, Kelly Eagleman, Wayne Baptiste, and Cyrus Baptiste; aunt, Wanda Baptiste Bradley; special friend, Virginia Yazzie; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. He was married for a short time to Rayanne Omeasoo.

Wake services will begin at 12:00 p.m. noon on Thursday, October 29, 2026, and will continue until his funeral services, which will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 30, 2026, all at the Chippewa Cree Help Lodge with Kelly Eagleman officiating. Burial will follow in the Eagleman Cemetery. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
