Obituary

William "Bill" BF Newton, Jr. 70, passed away due to natural causes at Benefis Healthcare on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.  Wake services will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2025, and will continue until his funeral service, which will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2025, all at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church.  Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Bill was born on August 31, 1955, in Great Falls to William BF and Rosemary (LaMere) Newton.  He was raised in Great Falls, graduating from high school there.  He entered the US Army, and following an injury during AIT, Bill was honorably discharged.  He married Teresa Walls in 1974, and they had three children whom they raised in Georgia.  They later divorced, and Bill had a son with a significant other.  For many years, Bill owned a mobile forklift tire press operation which he operated on his own.  He retired in 2009 and returned home to Montana.

Bill was an incredibly social man who loved the ladies and they loved him!  In Georgia he was known as "Chief" to his friends.  He moonlighted as a bouncer, bowled in a league, and played corporate softball there, so he was very well-known and loved.  He was an avid Broncos fan, and adored his family, but his relationship with the Lord was the most important to him.  His favorite songs were What a Friend We Have in Jesus and Victory in Jesus.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Rosemary Newton, and sister, Pamela Newton.

Bill is survived by his children, Katherine Walls of Hiawatha, KS, Jennifer (Mikey) Irwin and William "B Jay" Newton, III, all of Moore, SC, and Quinn Reed of Columbus, GA; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Gloria Little of Box Elder, Lucinda (Edward) Romero of Colorado Springs, CO, Donna (Alfred Chandler) Newton of Box Elder, Charlie (Lori) Mitchell of Colorado Springs, CO, and Robert Mtichell of Great Falls; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family and many, many friends.
