Obituary

Wesley Gorman, 70, of Havre, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2014, at his residence of natural causes. Cremation has taken place, and memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at St. Jude Catholic Church with Tim Maroney officiating. The family has requested that memorial donations be made in Wes' name to Project Hope for Montana children, or to the charity of the donor's choice. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements, and memories and condolences may be left on Wes' page at www.hollandbonine.com. Wes was born and raised in Harlem, graduating from Harlem High School in 1962. He worked the oil rigs around Sunburst for about 10 years, before moving to Havre, where he worked in construction for 10 years as well. Around 1982, he began working as a brakeman on the railroad. Wes married Shirley Blake in 1992, and the couple moved to Big Fork for several years. They returned to Havre in 2000, and made their home there until his death. Wes was a social man who enjoyed golfing and fishing. He spent many, many hours at the Eagles, volunteering, and was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church. He loved to spend time with his family and friends. He adored his grandchildren, especially Sam, whom he helped raise. Wes was preceded in death by his fathers, Harold Gorman and George Nivens; his brothers, Gary Gorman, and 2 infant brothers; his 2 step-sisters; and 2 step-children. He is survived by Shirley Gorman of Havre; his mother Athelia Nivens of Big Sandy; his brothers Dennis (Toni) Nivens of Oakridge, TN, Ron (Joann) Nivens of Blair, OK, Frank (Lori) Nivens of Malta, and Randy Nivens of Sidney; his sisters, Monica Leslie of Malta, Tammy (James) Houle of Big Sandy, Donna (Bob) Roswell of Rock Springs, WY, and Tammy Omlie of Havre; 1 step-sister; 1 step-brother; 2 step-sons; 1 step-daughter; 9 grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
