Warren was born on January 5, 1939, in Rugby, ND, to Lloyd and Lillian (King) Gault.  He was raised near Rugby, attending Healy and Sand Lake country schools through the fifth grade.  He graduated from Wolford High School in 1957.  Following high school, Warren attended the Gales Institute in St. Paul, MN, where he learned telegraphy.  In 1959, he hired on to the Great Northern Railroad as an agent telegrapher, working various stations until settling in Minot, ND, where he worked in the relay office and also as a dispatcher.  While there, the railroad merged with two others, becoming Burlington Northern, and he met Pat Ganje, whom he later married.  The couple moved to Missoula in 1975, and he worked in the relay office until the MRL bought that line.  Pat passed away in 1987, and soon after, Warren transferred to Havre.  There, he met Doreen Erickson, and the couple married in Coeur d'Alene, ID, in 1989.    He retired in 1998, and spent his time with his wife and her children and grandchildren.  Doreen passed away in 2014.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Pat and Doreen Gault; grandson, Lucas Floren; and parents, Lloyd and Lillian Gault.

Warren is survived by his stepchildren, Gloria (Raymond) Floren and Greg (Melissa) Erickson, all of Havre, Glenda (Monte) Wolverton of Kalispell, and Grant "Dale" (Debbie) Erickson and Ken Erickson, all of Havre; fourteen grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brothers, Allen (Charlene) Gault of Rugby, ND, and Richard (Carol) Gault of Hinsdale, MT; and numerous nieces and nephews.
