Vivian
Vazquez
October 12, 1961 – December 8, 2023
Vivian (Wolfchild) Vazquez, 62, passed away due to natural causes at Northern Montana Hospital on Friday, December 8, 2023. Wake services will begin at 4:00 p.m., and will continue until her funeral service, which will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2023, all at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the Wolfchild Family Cemetery. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
Vivian was born on October 12, 1961, in Blackfoot, ID, to Henry Wolfchild, Sr. and Sharlene Fisher. When she was young, Vivian's mother passed away, and she was raised by her father and stepmother, Henry and Mary Wolfchild, Sr. in Blackfoot and Rocky Boy. In the early 90's, Vivian moved to West Yellowstone, MT, and soon after, she married Fortino Vazquez, with whom she had two daughters. He passed away in 1998, and in 2001 Vivian returned home to Rocky Boy, where she raised her daughters and had two more children. Over the years, she worked as a cook at the Chippewa Cree Tribe Senior Center and as a floor walker and housekeeper at the Northern Winz Casino.
Vivian was a loving, quiet woman who enjoyed beading and was incredibly gifted at it, cooking, Bingo, Keno, coloring, and watching her crime and cooking shows. She had a great sense of humor, and did her best to make everyone feel great about themselves. Vivian absolutely doted on her grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fortino Vazquez; parents, Henry Wolfchild, Sr. and Sharlene Fisher; brother, Benny Wolfchild; nieces, Michelle Wolfchild Parker and Zenjo Wolfchild; and grandparents, Short Arms, Wolfchild, and George and Bernice (Bronco) Fisher.
Vivian is survived by her daughters, Danielle Vazquez of Missoula, and Thalia Vazquez and Rochelle (Josiah Huntley) Pease, all of Rocky Boy; son, Gabriel Pease of Rocky Boy; grandchildren, Liam and Kieran Vazquez; sisters, Michealene Flores, Vickie Sanchez, and Relda Wolfchild, all of Blackfoot, ID, and Nida (Ted) Wolfchild-Parker, Bernadine (Louis Weaselboy) Wolfchild, and Mary Small, all of Rocky Boy; brothers, Henry Wolfchild, Jr., Thomas Wolfchild, and Timothy Wolfchild, all of Rocky Boy; second mother, Mary Wolfchild of Rocky Boy; and numerous aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
