Obituary

Velma M. Clark, 65, passed away due to natural causes at Benefis Healthcare on Sunday, November 24, 2024.  Wake services will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, and will continue until her funeral service, which will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, all at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church with Earl "Archie" Arkinson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Demontiney-Clark Family Cemetery.  Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Velma was born on March 25, 1959, in Great Falls to Robert Clark and Dorothy Roasting Stick.  She was raised in Rocky Boy and Great Falls, graduating from Havre High School in 1979.  She had a son, and then attended Stone Child College where she received an associate of science degree in computer science in 1991.  She had three daughters and adopted a granddaughter while working for the Chippewa Cree Social Services as a caseworker for 25 years.  While working and caring for her children, Velma continued her education, earning another associate's degree in general studies.

Velma enjoyed spending time at the casino, trips with her children, following the rodeo circuit with her husband, flower gardening, and caring for her houseplants.  When shopping, she loved the clearance racks.  The focal point in her life, however, was her grandchildren.  She adored each and every one and spent all the time with them that she could.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandchildren, Xavier Simon, Shayden LittlePoplar, and Brantley James Gardipee; brothers, Milton and Michael "Snowball" Clark; aunts, Ruby Gopher and Peggy Roasting Stick; and uncle, Johnny Roasting Stick.

Velma is survived by her husband, Floyvin "Popeye" Demontiney of Rocky Boy; children, Preston (Leena Healy) Clark of Chinook, and Audrey Demontiney, Lola (Isaiah Doney) Demontiney, JoDee Demontiney, and Kyla Clark, all of Rocky Boy; grandchildren, Kaiisyn Clark, Leland Clark-Healy, Wyatt, Isla, Creelle, and Alijah Hoops, Bryleigh Gardipee, Brent Four Colors, Aubryn Demontiney, and Josius and Ferryn Demontiney; special granddaughter, Kodee Henderson; siblings, Michael Clark, Lois LittlePoplar, Mary Clark, Leah LaMere, and Ona Gopher; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
