Velda Irene Duty, 94, passed away Tuesday morning November 28, 2023, at her apartment in Timber Creek in Havre.

Velda was born February 4, 1929, in Stanford, Montana to Frank and Lucille (Bullard) Todd. She was raised and educated in Stanford. She married Marvin Duty on February 15, 1947. They raised their three daughters in Lewistown and Havre where Marvin owned and operated Duty Construction. They retired and traveled together, wintered in Mesa, Arizona and spent the summers in Billings, Montana. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed reading.

Velda was a compassionate person who loved her family. She enjoyed gardening, caring for her family, enjoying her friends and not to mention a glass of wine or two. She had a quick wit, which we enjoyed to the end.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin; daughter, Carlene Scharfe; brother, Don Todd; and her son-in-law, Bob Bricker.

Velda is survived by her two daughters: Debbie (Bob) Deery and Darlene Bricker; son-in-law, Dick Scharfe; her sisters, Shirley Olsen, Charlotte Rector, and Myrna Stone; and one brother, Gene Todd; grandchildren: Dr. Stace (Mark) Fritzler, Carrie (Jim) Kato, Damon (Eleanor) Bricker, Aaron (Heather) Bricker, Amy (Rick) Reynolds, and Frank (Kortnee) Leeds; great grandchildren: Natalee Fritzler, Reagan Fritzler, Lauren Kato, Carlee Kato, Reid Kato, Cortney (Tony) Filler, Hannah Bricker (Everett) , Chloe Bricker, Bella Bricker, Riley Bricker, Harley Bricker, Reese Reynolds, Ryan Reynolds, Jackson Reynolds, Trinity Leeds (Juan)  , Carter Leeds (Vic)  and Emily Leeds; and one great-great granddaughter, Isla Leeds.
