Vance Sargent Blatter, 57, of Havre, passed away on June 3, 2012, at Northern Montana Hospital of a heart attack. Vance was born on December 11, 1954, in Havre, Montana, to Kenneth and Jeannette (Sargent) Blatter. He lived on a farm in Zurich, Montana, until 1961. He later moved to Great Falls, attending CMR High School, where he was an outstanding wrestler. Vance graduated from CMR High School in 1973. He continued his education and wrestling career at Northern Montana College, having been recruited by Dave Greenwood. Vance spent his working career dedicated to the MT Public School System serving as principal in Joliet, Red Lodge and Havre. His outstanding personal qualities, honesty, selflessness and love, only to mention a few, made him well suited to his career choice. He was an amazing teacher, leader, and friend who touched many lives. He was an incredibly dedicated father with a heart of gold, whose family and friends always came first. Vance enjoyed bird hunting, his bird dogs, industrial arts projects, golfing, and barbequing for his family and friends. He was a quality person with high moral character and will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Mr. Blatter was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Blatter. He is survived by the love of his life Kim Klein; his two daughters Jesika Blatter of Havre, and Erika (Chad) Wertz of Columbia, Tennessee; his two grandchildren Laine and Zane Wertz of Columbia, Tennessee; his mother Jeannette Blatter of Black Eagle, Montana; his four brothers Leland (Julie) Blatter of Springfield, Missouri, Weston (Tammy) Blatter of Littleton, Colorado, Blake Blatter of Livingston, Montana, and Cory Blatter of Centennial, Colorado; and his sister Penny Phillips of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Cremation has taken place, and private family services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Montana State University - Northern Athletic Foundation.
