Thomas Arthur Wilson, 89 of Havre died March 12, 2016 at the Northern Montana Care Center in Havre.
Tom was born on May 3, 1926 in Malta, Montana to Perry A. and Virginia H. (Watson) Wilson. He graduated from high school after moving to Bremerton, WA. Tom then enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943, and served in the Pacific during WWII. He returned to Havre to attend college and then worked for the railroad and Havre Daily News Paper. Later he began his career with Sherwin Williams in Havre where he managed the store for many years. After his retirement he went to Realtor's school and worked for Oliver Realty.
In 1948 Tom married Marion Miner in Coeur D'Alene, ID. This union began with two step-children Marshal Field and Sharlene (Field) Morehouse, together they had two of their own; Candace and Sherry. They later divorced. Tom then married Dixie Evans. They also divorced.
Tom was very involved in the Havre community. He was an active member of the Lions Club as a charter member, past president, and a deputy governor of the Montana and Alberta Districts; he was a member of the Elks Club and a life member in the Masonic Lodge. Tom was an avid duplicate bridge player, even devoting his time to teaching bridge. Thomas was instrumental in developing the camping park at the Hill County fairgrounds and getting theHavre Communityswimming pool built. Other hobbies included hunting, tennis, reading, golfing, and traveling.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother Kenneth Wilson, and step-daughter Sharlene Morehouse.
Thomas is survived by his daughters; Candace "Candy" Wilson and husband of Las Vegas, NV and Sherry (Lee) Sorby of Corvallis OR; his sister Dorothy (Ed) Depner of Redmond, WA; step-son Marshal Field of Kalispell; and numerous other family members.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Holland and Bonine Funeral home. No services are planned as of his request. Condolences can be left at www.hollandbonine.com.
