Theresa Lynn Harris, 61, of Box Elder passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018 at her home. A wake will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018 at the Living Waters Church and will continue until her funeral at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday April 28, 2018; burial to follow at RJ Bar Ranch Family Cemetery. Theresa was born on December 16, 1956 to George and Bernice Harris in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. She was raised there for a few years until the family moved to Lame Deer, Montana. Theresa graduated from St. Labre High School and immediatly started clerking for the Northern Cheyenne Tribal Court System. In 1989 Theresa married Ron Stump in Lame Deer, Montana. A few years later the couple moved to Rocky Boy.
Over the years Theresa held jobs in Tribal Court Systems, both in Lame Deer and Rocky Boy. She fulfilled many positions; Clerk, Judge, Prosecutor, and most recently Public Defender for the Chippewa Cree Tribal Courts. She also worked in the school system with the Native American Children in School Coordinator from 2013 to 2015.
She enjoyed traveling, her favorite destination being the Martin Luther King Jr. Monument in Washington D.C. Theresa was a selfless, caring and loving person. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family, sharing her wit and was often good for a tease. Her grandchildren were her world and she loved every minute she spent with them.
She was preceded in death by both her parents; brother, Baptiste; and a niece, Tonya KillsNight.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Ron Stump; children, Monica Big Left Hand of Great Falls, Charles (Heather) LaFromboise Sr., George LaFromboise both of Rocky Boy and Lyndell Stump of Belgrade; sister, Emma Harris of Lame Deer; brothers Troy (Jonita) Harris, Arlee Harris and Delano (Tina) Harris all of Lame Deer; grandchildren, Tyler, Ashley, Britney, Charlize, Kaden, Charles Jr., Georgiana, Jaiden, KenG and Teague; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
