Obituary

Theodora "Ola" Marie Cochran, 83, died Thursday, May 10, 2012 at the Harlem Hospital in Harlem, MT. due to natural causes. Her wake will be at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, May 13, 2012 at the Red Whip Community Center in Ft. Belknap, followed by the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2012 at the Red Whip Community Center with Father Bob Erickson and Father Joseph Retzel officiating. Holland and Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Theodora was born April 17, 1929 to George Dorrance Horseman and Edna Warrior. She attended school in Flandreau, SD, St. Paul's Mission and Northern MT College. Theodora married Robert L. Cochran Sr. on October 28, 1946. They celebrated their 50 years of marriage by renewing their vows. Theodora worked at the Fort Belknap IHS Hospital, for Boeing and Hughes Aircraft, and the Fort Belknap Tribal Council as a member and a judge. She was a wonderful mother and housewife. She enjoyed reading western books, baking and attending powwows. Theodora was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ben and Mayme Horseman; Gramma Warrior; her parents; brothers, Benny, Leroy, Gilbert, George "Stormy", Mike and Gary; sisters, Carol, Mayme, Dawn, Cheryl, Lana, and Georgia. Grandchildren: Amanda Cochran, Louis LaTray Jr. Dominique Cochran. Great Grandchildren: Ann Marie LaMere, Tiana Cliff and Kathy Jada Mount. She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Cochran of Ft. Belknap, MT; daughters, Dawn Cochran , Henrietta Morin, Sandra (Louis) Cochran LaTray, and Kellie Cochran all of Fort Belknap, MT, Tracy (Michael) King of Zortman, MT, Avis (Harvey) King of Hays, MT, Veronica (Johnny) Gonzales of Belen, NM, Sybil (John) Allen of Havre, MT and Julia (Ed) Doney of Fort Belknap, Montana. Sons; Robert "Babe" Cochran and Joe Cochran, both of Fort Belknap, Preston Cochran of Hays, MT, and Adrian (Susie) Cochran of Havre, MT; sisters. Amy Horseman of Billings, MT. Ruby (Henry)Brockie of Hays, MT, Marlene (Bill) Stiffarm of Fort Belknap; brothers, Ruben (Jackie) Horseman and Robert (Barbara) Ball of Fort Belknap, MT and James Horseman of Browning, MT; uncle, Walter Blackbird of Fort Belknap; 54 grandchildren, 73 great-grandchildren, and foster children.
