Teddy Charles Reber, 85, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2025, in Mesa, Arizona. His funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2025, at the Messiah Lutheran Church. Graveside service will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Havre with Military Honors. Memorial contributions in Ted's honor may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children or to the Messiah Lutheran Church. Teddy was born November 13, 1939, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota to Theodore "Ted" and Margaret "Maxine" (Wheeler) Reber. He was raised in Fox Home, MN on the family farm and attended a one room schoolhouse through 8th grade. He attended Breckenridge High School in Minnesota and during his sophomore year is when he met his future wife, Connie Leinen. He graduated from High School in 1957 and went on to attend North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, North Dakota.
He and Connie married June 1, 1959, in Doran, Minnesota. They moved to Mohall, North Dakota where Ted worked for the Renville County Farmer Newspaper in ad sales. He worked for 9 months before transferring to Havre, Montana where Ted worked in Ad Sales for the Havre Daily News. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1963, serving one year and 25 days in Korea. He was honorably discharged in July of 1965. Ted returned to Havre to his former position at the Havre Daily News.
The couple had two children: Brent and Brenda, which kept them busy attending their activities. He and Connie purchased the Montgomery Ward store and operated it in Havre until 1985 when Montgomery Wards closed their stores. In October of 1987 he purchased the Credit Bureau and operated that business until January 1, 2002, when he sold the business to his son, Brent.
Ted was an innovative thinker, who was always up for a good deal. He purchased the Jubilee Bar which he operated from 1982 – 1988, was a partner in Bear Paw Mobile Homes, and in C&T trailers where they sold travel trailers. He was a great supporter of the Havre Community participating in Jaycees, Havre Elks 120, having served as past exulted ruler, The Eagles, Rotary and the Messiah Lutheran Church. Ted was active in serving on the Northern Montana Hospital Board, Montana Collectors Association serving as Past President along with the American Collectors Association.
Ted and Connie decided to spend their winters in the warmth of Arizona and purchased a home in Gold Canyon, Arizona. They had a summer home in West Glacier, Montana and they truly lived their best lives entertaining friends, golfing, playing in golf tournaments, card games and making friends wherever they traveled. They enjoyed their trips in their motor home traveling back east to look at the fall foliage. They created many memories with family and friends especially in Glacier, Ted always enjoyed taking people on the "Going to the Sun Highway" it was spectacular and very entertaining with Ted as your tour guide. Always the life of the party, telling jokes or stories with a sparkle in his eye and his contagious laugh that got everyone in the room laughing. You rarely saw Ted without Connie, the love they shared for one another was evident.
Ted and Connie were blessed with two granddaughters, of which Ted adored. He was proud of their accomplishments and enjoyed attending their activities. The "girls" were the highlight of both their lives, and he enjoyed making lasting memories on trips and family gatherings that they shared together.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Maxine "Dolly" Aarestad.
Ted is survived by his wife of 65 years Connie Reber. Son, Brent (Jill) Reber and their two daughters; Shea and Madison. Daughter, Brenda (Justin) Blunt and their daughter Dakoda "Kody". Numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and many friends.
