Susie J.
Waldner
April 13, 1936 – June 14, 2021
Susie Waldner, 85, passed into the loving arms of her Maker in the presence of her family on Monday, June 14, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2021. Burial will follow in the Hartland Colony Cemetery. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
Susie was born on April 13, 1936, in Magrath, Alberta, Canada, to John and Sarah (Kleinsasser) Waldner. The family lived at the Rockport Colony until Susie was 10, moving to the Rockport Colony in Montana, and then Hilldale, where she married Sam Waldner in December 4, 1963. The couple had 7 children, whom they raised at Hilldale. They moved to Hartland Colony in 1999, and remained there. Susie taught the prekindergarten classes for 18 years and then served as head cook for some time throughout their marriage. Sam passed away May 3, 2011, and Susie kept busy reading, especially her Bible, knitting, and singing hymns. She held a strong faith in God and cherished her relationship with Him, leaning on Him for strength and guidance throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sarah Waldner; brothers, John (Mary), Samuel (Anna), George, Joseph (Rebecca), and Jacob Waldner; sisters, Sarah (Peter) Wipf, Kathrina (David) Wurz, and Rachel (David) Kleinsasser; and brothers-in-law, Michael Gross and John Waldner.
Susie is survived by her children, Ike (Mary), Tim, Lydia (Jacob), Ron (Martha), Walter (Theresa), Gary (Lydia) Waldner, all of Hartland, and Julia (Jerry) Kleinsasser of Hidden Valley; 19 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, David (Sarah) Waldner of East End; sisters, Anna Gross of Mialta, Canada, and Rebecca Waldner of Hilldale; sister-in-law, Sarah Waldner of Camrose; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Susie's family would like to extend their profound appreciation to Bear Paw Hospice, the Hi-Line Sletten Cancer Center, Northern Montana Hospital, Lincare of Havre, and Holland & Bonine Funeral Home for their care of our mother.
