Obituary

On March 21, 2013 Steve M. Cochran "Shitter" passed away from a motor vehicle accident near his home at 3-mile. His wake service will begin 6 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the Red Whip Center with his funeral service 10 a.m. Monday also at the Red Whip with Pastor Dean Denny officiating. Burial will follow at the Harlem Cemetery. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Steve was born to the late Kenneth "Sonny" G. Cochran Sr. and Myrna F. Cochran. Steve graduated from Harlem High School in 1998. He loved wrestling and took the wild cats to state. He was also an avid football player and a fan. Steve had a special love in his heart for his horses, he loved fishing, hunting and playing hide-n-seek with the cops. He really enjoyed watching his sister Connie box. He would sit on the side and yell don't give up ferns get her. He worked as a firefighter and enjoyed being with his rez crew. Steve earned his first job when he was 6 years old, working with his dad for the Billmeyer Ranch. He also worked as a seismographer and for the oil rigs. He enjoyed jobs like Ranch work and wood hauling for the elders. He spent twelve years with Diane Storm Johnson who he had two beautiful daughters with. His high life was his nephew that was named after him, his name sake. The love of Steve was his two daughters Paige and Katy and his girlfriend Gina Buck. He adopted his favorite elders Theresa Tincher as his other mom and Dorothy Cochran. He had a special place in his heart for Baby Melinda Cochran and Katherine and Doug Johnson. He had so much respect for his family and his friends. Shitter adopted many of his friends as brothers. He lived his life to the fullest and he will be dearly missed, but we are happy for all of the memories he left with us. He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth G. Cochran one brother Kenneth Dean Cochran Jr. and one sister Marjorie Swan. Survivors are his two daughters: Paige and Katy Cochran. His mother Myrna Cochran. Sisters: Kathleen L. Cochran of Ft. Belknap; Audrey (Duane) Tincher of Ft. Belknap. Zona (James) McConnell of Havre. Zoni (Milton) Healy of Three Mile. Dovie Smith of Billings, Montana; Lea (Deland) Robertson of Lander, WY; Farrah (Robert) McConnell of Havre and Connie (Robbie) Johnson of Ft. Belknap. Brothers: Wes (Veronica) Cochran of Harlem;Milton "Scoot" Healy of Three Mile; Gordon (Sharon) Cochran of Ft. Belknap; Preston Cochran of Great Falls; Aaron "A.J." (Michelle) Cochran of Missouri. Uncles: Steve (Carol) Doney of Malta; Ronald "Cree" (Sue) Doney of Malta; Robert "Ol' Bones" (Margaret) Doney of Ft. Belknap. Aunts: Theresa Erickson of Great Falls; Kathleen (Melvin) Mart of Great Falls; Martha (Dave) Green of Washington; Ramona Champagne of Havre; Penny Doney of Rapid City, SD; Ruby Shoemaker of Malta; Peggy "Margaret" Doney of Ft. Belknap.
