Sondra Lee (Dowen) Pepin, 84, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at Northern Montana Care Center.  Memorial services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Megan Hoewisch officiating.  Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Sondra was born in Havre in 1938 to James and Esther Dowen.  She attended Lincoln McKinley School and graduated from Havre High School in 1957. She and her closest friend Marge Johnikin put together every reunion but one. Sondra attended one semester at Western Montana College in Dillon, MT. She graduated from nurses training thereafter, and her instructors were Mildred Sherry and Goody Gorseth.  She met and married the love of her life, Jim Pepin, and to their union was born Darren James, Candice, and Danelle Pepin. Upon her graduation, she worked for Havre Public Schools with handicapped children for eight years.

Music was Sondra's real passion in life. She went to many church services, Bible studies, and sung in the church choir.

She is survived by her brother Jim Dowen (Darlene) of Phoenix, AZ; her children, Darren Pepin, Candice Ballard, and Danelle (Bobby LaValley) Cole; her grandchildren Tanner, Carli, and Eryn Ballard, McKenzie LaValley, and Sabrina Cole; and her great-grandchildren Taven and Bridgette Ballard.
