Samila Mary "Gwaysis" Windy Boy, 65, passed away on July 18, 2025, in Rocky Boy, Montana. Wake services will begin on Monday July 21, 2025, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church and will continue her funeral services, which will be 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, all at the Lutheran Church with Earl "Archie" Arkinson officiating. Burial will follow in the New Rocky Boy Cemetery. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been trusted with arrangements.
Mary was born December 25, 1959, to Sam Sr. & Lucille Windy Boy. Mary brought light and energy to those around her with her generous spirit and giving heart. Mary went off to Job Corp then attended MSU Northern for Welding and obtained a Business Degree at Stone Child College. Mary was known for her outgoing nature and boundless compassion. She enjoyed the outdoors, playing machines, traveling, making art and crafts & being around family and friends. Mary was also known for her unique artistic way with the teepees. Mary was a crew boss for years; she worked various jobs and was also a member of the Native American Church and enjoyed singing Peyote songs. She always offered her love and support. Mary's kindness left a lasting impression on all who crossed her path.
Mary is reunited in rest with her parents, Sam & Lucille Windy Boy, Sr.; siblings, Louise Stump, William Paul Windy Boy, Ivan Chester Windy Boy, Arthur Ozzie Windy Boy, and Kevin Windy Boy; and grandson, Lathine Windy Boy.
She leaves behind five beloved children, Rosella (Alvin) Strange Owl, Curtis (Joyce) Windy Boy, Nathaniel and Destiny Windy Boy, Sella Parisian and Kyle (Sharlene) Windy Boy; siblings, Sam Vernon Windy Boy Jr., Wendy (Dominic) Bradley, Elaine (Fredrick) Coffee, and Rachael (David) Windy Boy; numerous grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
