JoAnn Brekhus, 77, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 in Havre, Montana. Cremation has taken place and no services will be held. JoAnn was born in Glendale, Arizona to William and Edna (Lee) Hollingsworth on January 6, 1938. She was raised in Oklahoma where she attended school, until her family relocated to the Hi-Line area in 1954. In 1959 the family moved to the farm north of Joplin after her mother married Fred R. Joy. JoAnn worked as a cook and the Romaine Ranch for a few years. This is where she met her husband Harold Breckus. JoAnn held jobs in housekeeping and laundry at the Park Hotel, Northern Montana Care Center and Townhouse Inns. After her step dad passed away JoAnn took care of her mother who passed in 2002. JoAnn enjoyed going to her mom's cabin in the Bear Paws, spending time with her beloved dog Benji, growing vegetables in her garden, and fishing. Over the years JoAnn had many great friends and enjoyed having them over for coffee and cards. She was preceded in death by her parents, and step father Fred Joy. JoAnn is survived by her step sisters, Edith (Gene) Erwin of La Grande, OR, and Linda (Ken) Drong of Havre, MT; Uncle Floyd (Letha) Lee of Joplin, MT; and friends, Roger and Gloria Heil, Lillian Spinnler, Sue Markley, Phyllis Wilson and many others at the Northern Montana Care Center.
