Rosemary was born on January 10, 1941, in Sidney to Vernon and Helen (Schwenke) Bailey. She was later joined by a sister Carolyn. Her parents divorced, and both remarried giving Rosemary many more siblings in the process. On May 12, 1957, Rosemary married Mervin Johnson at First Lutheran Church in Havre. Together they raised their family of four boys and one girl between Havre, Livingston, and Dagmar, Montana.
Rosemary loved to garden, and her green thumb made her flowerbeds flourish. She was also an excellent seamstress, sewing many clothes and craft projects. Working puzzles and watching baseball on TV, especially the Seattle Mariners, were things Rosemary found enjoyable. In the last few years, she always had a table with a puzzle started to which she and her friends would add pieces daily. She was also very talented at crocheting. Each of her grandchildren have a beautiful afghan created especially for them.
Rosemary's children and grandchildren were her greatest blessings. She loved each and every one of them with all her heart, and enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow and attending their activities as her health allowed. Rosemary truly enjoyed catching up with the older ones via Facebook or text message, always reminding them how much she loved them.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mervin; son, David; parents, Vernon Bailey and Helen Norman; stepparents, Luther Norman and Josie Bailey; sisters, Carolyn Richardson and Barbara Norman; and brother, Vern Bailey.
Rosemary is survived by her children, Robert (Patricia) and Bradley (Karen) Johnson, Kathy (Doug) Nielsen, and Jeff (Jennifer) Johnson; nine grandchildren, David, Danielle, Stephanie, Randy, Amanda, Bill, Adam, Rayna, and Aaron; eight great-grandchildren; stepsiblings, Lee Norman, Lenora Graham, and Wayne Norman; half-siblings, Lester Norman, Deloras Kallas, Bonnie Phillips, Donald Bailey, and James Bailey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
