Ronald Wayne Stump, 61, passed away due to natural causes on Monday, March 27, 2023, at his residence. Wake services will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, and will continue until his funeral service, which will be at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, all at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Vohs and Harlan Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Stump Family Cemetery. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.
Ron was born on March 29, 1961, in Fort Belknap to Rocky and Olivia (Flying) Stump. He was raised in Rocky Boy, graduating from Box Elder High School, and was a proud member of the Box Elder Bears football and basketball team. Following high school, Ron worked at Dry Fork Farms, the Boys & Girls Club of Lame Deer as he made his home there and in Colstrip for a number of years, Gary n Leo's IGA, and the Rocky Boy Police Department. His most recent position was with the Rocky Boy Public Schools, and he had every intention of working until retirement.
Ron excelled at both sports and enjoyed playing sports. After high School, he played softball with the Bad News Bears for a number of years, summer after summer, and he enjoyed the camaraderie of team sports. He also enjoyed horseshoes and playing machines in various casinos in the Havre area. Ron was a quiet, intelligent man who adored his family and was dedicated to helping them whenever they needed it.
Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Harris Stump; parents, Rocky and Olivia Stump, Sr.; siblings, Doris Windy Boy and Debra Stump; paternal grandparents, John and Blanket (Mighty Voice) Stump, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Ervin and Dora (Thinker) Flying; and numerous aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
Ron is survived by his children, Dana (Ken) Falcon and Elias Stump, all of Great Falls, and Lyndell (Moriah) Stump, Loni Belcourt, Tori Belcourt, and Donny Top Sky, all of Rocky Boy; ten grandchildren, Benji, Jaiden, Teague, Keng, Louis, Jackson, Lotus, Taizj, Phoenix, and Aubrey, with a little boy due any day; siblings, Sandra (Jim Seymour) Taylor and Rocky Stump, Jr., all of Rocky Boy, LaVonne (Randy) Ellis of Havre, and Cynthia Stump of Rocky Boy; best friend, Cheryl Windy Boy of Rocky Boy; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
