Robin Y. Raining Bird, 52, passed away due to natural causes at Peace Hospice on Friday, May 21, 2021.  Wake services will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2021, and will continue until her funeral service, which will be at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 23, 2021, all at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church.  Burial will follow in the Rocky Boy Cemetery.  Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Robin was born on November 11, 1968, in Havre to Robert Nicholson and Barbara Raining Bird.  She was raised in Rocky Boy, graduating from Rocky Boy High School in 1987.  Following graduation, she attended Fort Peck Community College from which she received two Associate's degrees, majoring in computer science and business.  While attending college, Robin worked as a bartender at the Horsehoe Bar.  After graduation, she continued bartending and worked as a wildland firefighter during the summers.  Soon after graduation, she returned to Rocky Boy and began working for the tribal offices as an administrative assistant.  She remained there for several years, and then began working for Northern Winz Casino, working her way up to business manager until the casino hired a general manager.  She obtained her training in social work, and began working as a social worker for the Chippewa Cree Tribe, a job she remained at until she moved to Great Falls to be near her oldest daughter.  There, Robin worked at WalMart in the garden center, and then Benefis Healthcare in the Native American Center.

During her school years, Robin was a cheerleader.  As she moved into her adult years, her hobbies included gardening, cooking, baking, sewing, and beading.  She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Nicholson; siblings, Donovan Raining Bird and Raelee Raining Bird; and her grandparents, Art and Mabel Raining Bird.

Robin is survived by her children, William Denny and Brandy (Jacob Bailey) Raining Bird, all of Great Falls, Nicolette Four Star of Wolf Point, and Cheryl Four Star of Frazer; mother, Barbara Four Star; ten grandchildren; sisters, Roberta Nicholson of Rocky Boy and Melissa Nicholson of Box Elder; brothers, Mike Couture of Flathead and Adrian Young of Oregon; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
