On Wednesday, November 5, 2025, Robert L. Turner, 78, went to join his beloved wife in Heaven.
Robert was born in Clifton Forge, Virginia, on August 1, 1947, to Jean and Robert Turner. He attended school in Harlem, graduating from Harlem High School in 1967, where he played football. After graduation, Robert enlisted in the US Army, serving from 1967 through 1969 in Vietnam. In 1971, he married Debby, and the couple had three children together and adopted a granddaughter. Over the years, Robert worked in maintenance for the school district, and then began working for BNSF where he became a machinist. He retired from BNSF in 2006 and went to work for the city dump.
Robert was a hard-working man who never sat idle. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening, hunting, and fishing. He could build anything, and he loved his birds. Robert possessed an amazing sense of humor, and he was well-known for bestowing nicknames on everyone he cared about. He adored his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Debby Turner.
Robert is survived by his children Dawn, Dana, Robert and Kayla Turner, all of Havre; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Judy Welchert of Lincoln, Nebraska; brother, Ronald Turner of White Sulphur Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., with his funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m., all at Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.
