Robert A.
Pepin
May 9, 1932 – June 14, 2025
Robert A. "Bob" Pepin, 93, passed away due to natural causes at the Care and Comfort Home on Saturday, June 14, 2025. Cremation has taken place, and memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Holland & Bonine Funeral Home with The Very Reverend Daniel Wathen officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Bob's family has suggested memorial donations be made in his memory to St. Jude Catholic School, the Care & Comfort Home, or a charity of the donor's choice. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.
Bob was born on May 9, 1932, in Havre to Exzelia J. and Bernadene (Howser) Pepin, Jr., joining his brother Exzelia "Jim" Pepin III. He was raised in Havre, attending Devlin Elementary and St. Jude. While in high school, Bob worked for the Coke plant, and he graduated from Havre High School in 1951. Immediately following graduation, he began working for the Great Northern Railroad, a career that saw the purchase by Burlington Northern and then the merger with Santa Fe before he retired. In 1952, Bob joined the Montana Army National Guard, and on February 14, 1953, he married JoAnne Gallus. The couple had six children whom they raised in Havre.
Bob was a consummate gentleman and a loving family man. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobile riding, and camping and cribbage, as they always went together! He was very friendly, but a man of few words. He and his family loved their trips to Glacier, and he and JoAnne traveled regularly. Bob was quite the jokester and possessed an excellent sense of humor. He enjoyed his coffee groups and playing pool, and he enjoyed hearing the "scuttlebutt about town" while there. Bob was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, the Havre Eagles Club, and the Havre Elks Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnne Pepin in 2017; parents, Exzelia and Bernadene Pepin, Jr.; brother, Exzelia "Jim" (Sondra) Pepin; and parents-in-law, Raymond and Anna Jo Gallus.
Bob is survived by his children, Katherine (Bob) Mogstad of Helena, Robert J. Pepin of Missoula, Richard (Andy) Pepin of North Glenn, CO, Kimberly (Mike) Evans of Havre, Raymond Pepin of Roy, UT, and Kara (Ron) Malone of Havre; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many friends.
