Robert "Bob" Vernell Gallagher of Havre passed away from natural causes Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the age of 70. Bob was born on December 9, 1955, in Billings, Montana. In 1960 the family moved to Havre, Montana, where Bob spent his childhood and attended school. In 1973, Bob proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served for 13 years 4 months as a field radio operator and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant, receiving numerous awards and accolades. Following his military service, he returned to Havre and completed his high school education, graduating from Havre High School in 1981. He went on to attend Northern Montana College, where he earned a degree in electronics and drafting.
Bob was united in marriage to Sandy Lewis in 1978, and together they had one son. In 1982, he married Peggy Roberts, and together they had three children. In 1990, Bob married Kathy Frieson, and the couple made their home in Las Vegas, Nevada, where they lived until Kathy's passing in 2014. While in Las Vegas, Bob worked at the Rampart Casino. In 2016, he married Debra Munson. After retiring, Bob returned to Havre, where he spent the remainder of his life.
Bob found great joy in spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved fishing, canning, gardening, and woodworking, and took pride in creating and sharing with those he loved.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Rebecca Ann; his stepson, Eric Holleran; his parents, John and Carol Gallagher; and his sister, Angela.
Bob is survived by his wife, Debra Gallagher of Havre; his children, Michael Gallagher of West Virginia, Jeremiah Gallagher of Kalispell, and Jennifer Stratton of Havre; and his cherished grandchildren, Addison, Mikey, Xander, Rebecca, Ireland, Leland, and Serenity. He is also survived by his brothers, Terry Gallagher of Nebraska, James Gallagher of Helena, Daniel Gallagher of Havre, and Michael Gallagher of Shepherd; his sisters, Julie Skramstad of Havre, Jeanne Davis of Havre, Cathleen Gallagher of Great Falls, Karen McCrummen of Billings, and Jackie Gallagher of Billings; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place, and a private family service will be held at a later date.
