Ramon "Ray" D. Edmonds, 85, of Havre passed away Monday, February 26, 2018 at his home surrounded by family. Cremation has taken place and no services will be held at Ray's request. Memorials in Ray's name may be made to Virginia Edmonds, memo Timber Creek Residence Fund, 155 34 th Ave W. #29 Havre, MT 59501 or to the charity of the donor's choice. Ray was born on September 18, 1932 to Floyd and Elizabeth (Alm) Edmonds in Fort Benton. The family moved to Great Falls where he was raised and attended school, graduating from Great Falls High in 1950. After graduation Ray joined the Navy and was stationed in Hawaii.
On February 19, 1963 Ramon Edmonds married Virginia Steinmetz in Havre. Later that year the couple moved to Havre from Great Falls when Ray transferred with Super Save Grocery. Ray also worked at Citizen's Bank as assistant cashier and had a large part in bringing credit cards to the city of Havre's citizens and businesses. In the early 70s Ray bought Office Equipment Company and ran it for many years until his retirement.
Ray enjoyed playing hockey in his younger years, transitioning into softball and then golf as the years went on. Fishing was a life long pastime of his and he picked up gardening after retirement. Ray and Virginia would take pack trips into the mountains and enjoyed spending time at their cabin in Sun River Canyon. He loved people and people loved him, but family was Ray's biggest love. He was a jokester and was known to play pranks. Ray was civic minded and involved in many community activities and organizations.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Gerald Edmonds.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Virginia; all his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister, Sharon Edmonds.
