Obituary

Rachel A. Waldner of the Hidden Valley Colony died at 76 years in her home with family by her side after a hard battle with cancer.

Rachel was born to Andrew and Rachel Hofer at the Miller Colony in 1949. There she lived for 12 years then she moved to the Sage Creek Colony. There she married the love of her life Jacob; she was married for 53 years and had 7 children. 4 sons Mike (Susanna), Phillip (Laura) both of Sage Creek Colony, Randy (Donna), Jerry (Brenda) both of Hidden Valley Colony, 3 daughters Rita, Elizabeth and Marie.

Rachel moved to Hidden Valley Colony in 2018; she was a people's person always willing to open her home to anybody. She was a kindergarten teacher for 15 ½ years, a job that she deeply loved. She loved to sew and knit and an avid Colony worker until her last days, always lending a helping hand. She was a person who everybody came to for advice, which she willingly gave, one of her greatest joys was tending her flowers and taking care of her grandchildren. She had 6 grandchildren, 3 girls and 3 boys, they were her pride and joy. She loved to share anything she owned and she was never selfish.

Rachel is survived by her husband and children, 6 sisters, 8 brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Rest in peace dear mom, grandma and sister, you are gone but not forgotten.

Her family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Tim Blair, the Sletten Cancer Center in Havre, and Northern Montana Hospital for the good care she got.
