Pernell Jay "Sonny Boy" Raining Bird, "Morning Crier" , 41, passed away due to natural causes at Northern Montana Hospital on Tuesday, November 7, 2017. Wake services will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, and funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2017, all at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Rocky Boy, with burial to follow in the Rocky Boy Cemetery. Sonny Boy was born on October 19, 1976, in Havre to Ivan and Patsy (Dog Sleep) Raining Bird. He was raised in Rocky Boy until he was 7, and then moved to a Havre Day Activity Center group home, where he remained until his death.

Sonny Boy was an independent man who enjoyed tossing a ball with his brother Josh, listening to Indian Music, and visits with his family.

He was preceded in death by his father Ivan Raining Bird; his brother Charles "Simmer" Raining Bird; and his nephews, Kyle Raining Bird and Christopher Tendore.

Sonny Boy is survived by his mother, Patsy Raining Bird of Rocky Boy; his brothers, Ivan John (Donna) of Box Elder, Gerald "Jerry" of Portland, OR, Daniel (Wanda) of Fort Belknap, Greg of Rocky Boy, and Joshua (Melinda Cochran) and Steve Raining Bird, all of Havre; his sisters Theta (Sidney Blunt) Raining Bird of Wolf Point, and Susan Raining Bird of Great Falls; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
