Pauline F. Russette, 76, passed away due to natural causes at Northern Montana Hospital on Monday, August 7, 2023.  Wake services will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, August 7, 2023.  A Rosary will be said for Pauline at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, and her funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, all at St. Anthony's Catholic Church.  Burial will follow in the Russette Family Cemetery.  Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Pauline was born on July 8, 1947, in Havre to Mike and Helen (Champagne) Russette.  She was raised in Rocky Boy, and attended Flandreau Indian School, graduating in 1964.  In 1965, she moved to Dallas, TX, and married Stanley Dalby in 1967.  The couple returned to Rocky Boy in 1973, and had three children before divorcing.  Pauline attended Northern Montana College from 1976 until 1978, majoring in business.  In the early 80's she began a relationship with Arthur "Joey" LaMere, a relationship that spanned 42 years and produced a child.  After college, Pauline worked for the Rocky Boy Schools for several years, and then began working for various tribal offices, which spanned the remainder of her working life.  She retired in 2014.

Pauline enjoyed going to rummage sales, traveling, puzzles, star quilting, making teepees, and playing cribbage.  Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family, and she truly treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Helen Russette; children, Vernon and Marc Dalby; great-grandchild, Kaz James Ereaux; siblings, James (Bernice), Gene, Lester, William (Matsy), Calvin (Carol), and Walter Russette, Erma Racine, Leota (Tucker) Caplette, and Wanda Russette; and several nieces and nephews.

Pauline is survived by her children, Stacy (Morris Meyers, Sr.) Dalby and Loni LaMere, all of Rocky Boy; her significant other, Joey LaMere of Rocky Boy; adopted children, Louis "Duce" (Mary Clark) and Loretta Russette, Leon (Kristi Henderson) Russette, William Russette, Jr., and Sammy Caplette, all of Rocky Boy; grandchildren, Cody (Lexie Henderson) Nault, Shea (Kyle) Monroe, Tessa, Karlee, and Markita Meyers, Morris Meyers, Jr., T'Sean Taylor, and Shea'Ann, Tae'Syn, Tay'Loni, Skya'Rayne, and Ty'Zane LaMere; great-grandchildren, Kezleigh Monroe, and Vernon and Julianna Webster; sister-in-law, Frances Russette; brother-in-law, Terry Racine; daughter-in-law, Gilma Nault; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other extended family and friends, including Faith The Boy's children.
