Pauline "Polly"
Kay Albertson
December 7, 1951 – May 24, 2019
Polly, 67 years young, with her family by her side, went to her heavenly home May 24, 2019 after a five-year battle of cancer. A celebration of Polly's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2019, at St. Jude Catholic Church with Deacon Timothy Maroney officiating. Polly's family has suggested memorial donations be made in her name to the Hi-Line Sletten Cancer Institute, the Friends of Beaver Creek Park, or the charity of the donor's choice. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements. Please visit Polly's online memorial page and leave a message of condolence for her family at www.hollandbonine.com.
Polly was born on December 7, 1951, to H. Gilman "Slim" and Katherine Marie (Meyer) Braley, and raised in Havre, Montana. In 1970, Polly graduated as the first and largest class of the established Havre High School. Cruising the drag, she met her first husband, Robert Duane Dawson, and the couple married on August 22,1970. Polly and Duane were blessed with a boy, Scott Duane Dawson on December 28, 1971. Duane passed away in an accident November 30, 1975. When Polly was cruising the drag meeting her first husband, in the back seat hunkered down, was her second husband. Polly and Kennith "Butch" Albertson married July 15, 1978. Their union brought together Scott and Ryan Sheldon Albertson as brothers. Their son, James Eugene Albertson was born June 24, 1984.
Her first job started in high school at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd followed by many others including Garrahan's Greenhouse, Mel's Grocery, Ben Franklin's Crafts, with Polly retiring from the Northern Montana Hospital in October of 2015.
As a child, Polly and her family camped in the Beaver Creek Park and Echo Lake. Her love of camping continued with Butch, camping with the Pagers and many other friends. She belonged to a birthday club, and anybody that gnomed Polly, she was the Gnomes biggest fan. Polly's kindness and sarcasm touched many lives. Her love was very evident as she put family first. Her experience at the nursing home helped diagnose Ryan's diabetes. Her second love was crafting. She and her mom would craft and craft in her mom's basement selling their wares at craft shows. Whatever craft there was, she did it. She designed and created beautiful creations with her talents of stamping and permanent botanicals for her sons' weddings and many other weddings, sewed Halloween costumes and patches, and knitting/crocheting, all were her strong suits. Her wish for a girl came true with her first grandchild, Savannah, followed by eight (8) more granddaughters with a grandson born last summer. She absolutely loved teaching them all how to be kids and stay kids as long as they can.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Duane, her parents, and brother James G. Braley.
Polly is survived by her husband, Butch of 40 years and 10 months; children Scott(Serena), Ryan (Cassie), and Jimmy (Stephanie); grandchildren, Savannah, Sophia, and Selah Dawson, Zoey and Adalyn Albertson, and Kathryn, Makena, Penny, Teddi and Jeremiah Albertson; sister Mary Ann Gamble (Jack); brother-in-law Brett Albertson (Julie); and sister-in-law Mardy Robinson.
