Paul Carl Schwan, 84, died Saturday, October 27, 2011 of natural causes at the Northern Montana Care Center. His rosary and funeral mass will be Thursday, November 3, 2011 with the rosary being said at 1:45 p.m. and his funeral service beginning 2 p.m. all at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Paul's honor may be made to the Diabetes Association, Montana Chapter 3203 3rd Avenue North Suite 203 Billings, Montana 59101. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Paul was born March 7, 1927 at the family homestead in Goldstone, Montana to Anton and Julianna Schwan he was one of sixteen children. His parents had homesteaded North of Rudyard. Paul worked on the family farm until he was drafted for the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He was honorably discharged and returned home to Goldstone. Paul worked on the farm for many years. He moved to Havre and began work for the City of Havre until he retired. Paul was a 53 year member of the Knights of Columbus and was a third degree knight He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers: Andrew, Jack, Anton, Frank, Joseph, Bernard and and infant brother Peter Schwan. His sisters: Eva Falla, Mary Hall, Sister Antonita Schwan, Julia Schwan, Tillie Miller, Aggie Sherman and Theresa Houim. Paul is survived by his sister: Pauline Lauepple of Havre, Montana and many nieces and nephews.
