Paul Franklin Russette, Jr., "Frankie" of Rocky Boy was born November 21, 1959 and passed on due to
natural causes on September 28, 2023 in Great Falls, Montana. Frankie carried the Cree name Wahpi
Kihiw Awahsis, "White Eagle Child." He graduated from Box Elder High School in 1978 and joined the
Navy shortly after. He was honorably discharged from the military in 1986. He was married to Kim Crain
for 35 years. After his service, they returned to Montana and started a family. He attended Stone Child
College, served on the tribal council and worked a variety of jobs for the tribe in Rocky Boy School
District.
Frankie loved traveling to powwows with his family and cherished spending time with his children and
grandchildren. He became a true Rocky Boy Stars fan when we worked as a bus driver for Rocky Boy
Schools and enjoyed cheering for the Stars during basketball season. He also enjoyed listening to music,
especially jazz, country, powwow, and peyote songs.
He is preceded in death by his father, Paul Russette, Sr., brother-cousins Glen Eagleman, Sr., Ronnie
Bercier, Louie Eagleman, Stanley Eagleman and Robert Eagleman, auntie Barbara Eagleman, grandmas
Jane Eagleman, Darlene Berger, and Cecile Eagleman, and many other loved ones.
He is survived by his children Tony (Kachina) Russette, Owen Russette (Shayna Jordan), Rebeka Russette,
and Kristie (Craig) Russette-Ollinger, grandchildren Niteh and Gemma Russette and Kian Ollinger,
mother Sylvia Gopher Russette, brothers Marvin Russette, Andrew Russette, and David Eagleman,
sisters Ruby Russette and Tamara Russette, former spouse Kim Crain Russette, and numerous friends
and family.
