Obituary

Patricia Rae Shawl, 43, of Box Elder, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at her residence. Cause of death is under investigation by the Choteau County Coroner's office. Patricia was born on September 9, 1968, in Los Angeles, California, to Rodrick and Sharon (Cochran) Shawl. She attended school in Great Falls, Harlem, and Billings, Montana. Following her school years, Patricia married Casey Big Knife, and the couple made their home outside of Box Elder. She enjoyed watching "chick flicks", cooking, dancing, and listening to 70's music. Patricia was preceded in death by her grandparents, her parents, and her sister Anna Marie Shawl. She is survived by her husband Casey Big Knife of Box Elder; her daughters, Vanessa Spotted Blanket of Red Lodge, Shirelle Decelles of Great Falls, and Summer Dawn Big Knife of Box Elder; her sons, Giovanni Shawl of Billings, Monty Spotted Blanket of St. Ignatius, and Moses Big Knife of Box Elder; one grandchild; her sisters Holly Shawl of Fort Belknap and Georgette Shawl of Billings; her brothers Rod and Jerry Gilbert of Billings, and her brother Josh J. Cochran of Fort Belknap; and numerous nieces and nephews. A wake service will be held at Rocky Boy on Monday evening, June 11, 2012, at the Rocky Boy Catholic Church, and another will be held at Fort Belknap on Tuesday evening, June 12, 2012, at the Red Whip Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at the Red Whip Center with Father Joe Retzel officiating. Burial will be in the Hays Cemetery. Holland & Bonine has been entrusted with the arrangements.
