Patricia "Patsy" Ann Dog Sleep Raining Bird was born to Minnie Sangrey and Charlie Dog Sleep on June 14, 1936.

Our Mom, Grandma, Auntie, Sister, Friend, and most importantly … Our Inspiration.  She lived a modest and humble life and was known to take in any children and adults that needed a place to lay their head, something to eat, or just a place to feel loved.

She was more than any of us could have ever wanted and was exactly what we needed.  Her presence alone was enough to comfort you in any situation.  When you walked in her door everything and anything that was wrong, just went away.  Her kind and loving soul has touched many lives.

Patsy was a proud mother and Great Great Grandmother.  She married Ivan Raining Bird when she was eighteen (18) years old in 1954.  With that union, she had eight (8) children, two (2) girls and six (6) boys  Patsy and Ivan moved to Parker Canyon in 1975 where they raised their children and grandchildren.  Gw

No amount of words can explain how much she meant to all of her family.  He was always in good spirits and always had something positive to say.  She made sure that she was available for anyone that needed a listening ear.  Every morning, she made time to talk with any of her family members that checked up on her.  She was our rock, the backbone of our family.  Nothing can replace her or take her place.  We will always keep her in our hearts and prayers.  Her life, made our life.

She is survived by Sons, Ivan John (Sis) Raining Bird, Daniel (Wanda) Raining Bird, and Greg Raining Bird of Rocky Boy and Gerry Raining Bird of Olympia, Washington, and daughters, Susan Raining Bird of Rocky Boy and Theda Raining Bird of Frazer, MT.

Her pride and joy in life were her grand children and great grandchildren.  Patsy raised most of her grandchildren like her own and they consider her their Mom especially Josh (Carly Parker), Steve (Shannon LaMere), Greg "Moose" (Trea Nault), and Jennifer (Lance DeCora) Raining Bird.  In total she had sixteen (16) grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and three (3) great great grandchildren.

Patsy was preceded in death by her husband Ivan Raining Bird; Sons Pernell and Simmer Raining Bird, her Mother Minnie Sangrey, Brothers, James Ironmaker, Dennis, Mike, James Sangrey; Sisters Rena Gardipee, Sybil Collliflower, Madeline Gardipee, and her beloved grandsons Christopher Tendore and Kyle Raining Bird.

We, the Ivan and Patsy Raining Bird family are deeply humbled by the kind words and gestures of our people, family and friends.  Just by stopping in to check on the family is deeply appreciated.  No words can explain our gratitude in our time of need.

We have entrusted Holland & Bonine to care for and prepare our Mom for her long awaited journey to be reunited with our loved ones.  See you soon Mom.
