Patty was born November 10, 1945, in Havre to Peter and Dorothy (Nelson) Woronik. She was raised on the family farm North of Havre and was the third of four children. Growing up the children were creative in making cardboard sleds, performing shenanigans on their horses, attending country dances, playing music with her siblings, and working on the farm.

She married Gerald Wood and to that union three children were born; Curt, Gerald, and Tiffany. The couple later divorced. Patty married Alan Childs and to that union was born one daughter, Angela. They too later divorced.

Patty's favorite season was spring because of all the baby sheep, cats, horses, goats, cows, pigs, chickens, duck, geese, and all the wild babies that were born. She enjoyed horse racing and was a regular in Great Falls at the horseraces. She also enjoyed watching the Kentucky Derby. She could pick the winning horse most of the time, and we always learned to place our bets, after she chose her horse.

She also enjoyed gardening and growing things. If you gave her an empty plot of land she would turn it into a beautifully landscaped piece of paradise. All plants and animals flourished under her caring hands. One of her favorite things to look at was the green grass and the intricate weave of Russian Olive bark. When you went to visit, she could be found outside somewhere tending to her yard, the animals, or in her shop building something fun and loving the smell of fresh sawdust.

Patty was a teacher at heart and enjoyed teaching everyone her many skills. If you liked something she had made, she would make sure you knew how to make one on your own. She loved helping her grandchildren with projects. Many 4-H ribbons were earned with the help of her guiding hands.

Christmas was her favorite holiday. She loved the lights, family gatherings, presents; the entire holiday was special to her. Although, if you knew Patty, many would have thought that Halloween was her favorite because of her incredible talent in making costumes. People would bring her an idea and the next thing you knew, she would have it created. Right down to the last detail, because details were her favorite part.

She was always joking around, making everyone laugh.  She was full of light that never faded for her friends and family.

Our lives were turned upside down when she was diagnosed with cancer. Even so, she never stopped caring for everyone and everything. She always did everything by herself, ever since anyone can remember.

She was a hard worker that never gave up. She worked for as long as she could, and as hard as she could until it was done right. She loved as hard as anyone could ever love until the day she died.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Peter Woronik; sisters Dorothy Ann Chamberlain and Carolyn Murphy; and her brother, Peter Woronik, Jr.

Patty is survived by her four children; Curt (Carol) Wood, Gerald Wood, Tiffany (Chad) Olsen, and Angie Childs; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
