Pamela Jane
Stiffarm
August 27, 1953 – March 12, 2018
Pamela J. (Eagleman) Stiffarm, 64, passed away due to natural causes at St. Luke Extended Care in Ronan on Monday, March 12, 2018. Wake services will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, and will continue until her funeral which will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, all at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rocky Boy. Burial will follow in the Eagleman Family Cemetery.
Pam was born on August 27, 1953, in Fort Belknap, to Paul and Mary Jane (Writing Bird) Eagleman. She was raised in Rocky Boy, graduating from Box Elder High School in 1971. Pam saw a need for higher education in Rocky Boy, and she was one of those instrumental in turning adult education classes into Stone Child College. She loved the college, and began working there in April of 1985 as the Vocational Education Secretary. In 1991, Pam began working as the administrative assistant to the president, and remained there until her retirement in 2005, obtaining her AAS in Computer Science from Salish Kootenai College – Stone Child Campus, and her BS in Human Services from the College of Great Falls, all while working at Stone Child.
Pam was a true caregiver, caring for her parents in their ailing years while she worked and raised her family. She loved to read and participate in traditional ceremonies. Her family was everything to Pam, and she doted on her grandchildren, spending every moment she could with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mary Jane Eagleman; her granddaughter, Nalani LaCounte; her sisters, Faith The Boy, Lerita Eagleman, Renita "Joy" Potts, and Paulette and Cynthia Eagleman; and her brothers Gary and Stanley Eagleman.
Pam is survived by her daughters, Karen Stiffarm of Havre, and Nicole Stiffarm of Ronan; her sons Joshua Eagleman of Phoenix, AZ, and Jarrod Black of Ronan; her three grandchildren, Austin Morsette, Garrison Corcoran and Aeryss LaCounte; several great-grandchildren; her brothers, Brian "Kelly" Eagleman and Jonathan "Jay" Eagleman, both of Rocky Boy; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins (many of whom called Pam "Mom"), nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
