Olive was born on May 13, 1934 to Joseph and Clara (Gardipee) Parisian. She was the sixth of nine children born to Joe and Clara. Her mother and father worked in the sugar beet fields when Olive was a young girl and they spent some time living in the Zurich area. They eventually moved to Rocky Boy and lived on the Lower Road in a small cabin.

She attended school in Rocky Boy and eventually received her GED. While she was still in High School, she met and married Joseph Daniel Rosette on June 4, 1950 when she was just 16 years old. Her first job was a Certified Nurse's Assistant and she dreamed of someday being a nurse. However, after attending Northern Montana College she had more credits towards a teaching degree and ended up graduating with a degree in Elementary Education.

After graduation, she went to work at Box Elder Schools and taught there for over 20 years as the second-grade teacher but was in the school system for over 30 years. She had a passion for teaching and always stressed to her kids the importance of staying in school and getting an education. She was known to be very strict in class and many of her students can remember the little knots left on their heads when they misbehaved (mostly the little boys). She loved her students and many times would come home from school and tell stories of some of the goofy things they did or said that day. She retired from teaching in 2001 after having instructed over a thousand kids from Rocky Boy. As an appreciation of her service to the students of Box Elder, the school dedicated the second-grade classroom in her name and a plaque sits above the door.

Olive and Joe had eight children, all of whom attended and graduated from Box Elder Schools. She was also strict with her kids but loved each one of them unconditionally. She was wise, kind, witty, and very intelligent and didn't take any crap from them or anyone else. She never gave unwanted advice and taught us how to love without boundaries and laugh until it hurt. She never judged her children whether they were right or wrong and was always there for them. She was always taking in kids that needed help and provided them with love and shelter as if they were her own.

She really, really loved reading and could read a book from cover to cover in a day or two. She loved rings on her fingers and always had her nails done up by professionals. She loved Christmas with her family because that was a time when all her kids would gather together and enjoy time with each other. She enjoyed playing cribbage with her children and grandchildren and would sit around for hours joking and laughing with them as they played. When people would come to visit to her, she would sit and listen, and with her fingers write in cursive on her leg to comfort herself.

She was proud of her kids, loved them with all her heart, and always wanted nothing but the best for them. She especially loved and enjoyed the tons of grandkids, great grandkids, and great-great grandkids with whom she was blessed. Any time they visited her she would have a big smile and warm hug for them. She always had a big bag of Gummy Bears in her dresser drawer to pass out to them when they came to see her.

In the last couple years of her life, she had many, many health issues and there were times we thought she was going to leave us, but she fought back and was able to give us more of herself. She was one of the strongest women we know. We're so grateful for our time with her and thankful that Kathy, Robin, and Melanie teamed up to provide her 24-7 care so she could stay in her home until she finally went home. She was a rock and the matriarch of our family with an unwavering foundation built on her faith in the Creator.

Mom was preceded in death by her husband Joe Rosette; Dad and Mom Joe and Clara Parisian; brothers Paul, Edward (Sarah), and Zeke Parisian; Sisters Stella Flannagin, Margaret (Charlie) Swan, Lena (Bud) Stamper, Mary "Bibs" (Doug) Douglas; and her daughter May Lou.

Survivors include her sister Bernadette (Doug) Lords of Albuquerque, New Mexico and brother Lenny Parisian of Box Elder; daughters Pam (Scott) Austin; Maureen (Rick Holcomb) Rosette of Spokane, Washington, Yvonne (Jon) Hill of Missoula, Montana, and Kathy (Ronnie Joe) Henry of Box Elder; sons Joey (Chine) Rosette, Jr., Neal (Robin) Rosette, and Tim (Lori) Rosette all of Box Elder. She is also survived by her 27 grandkids, 52 great grandkids, 3 great-great grandkids, and a ton of nieces and nephews.

She also had an extended bunch of kids in Edward (Barb) Parisian, Wilbert (Corrine) Parisian, Robert (Diana) Parisian, Tommy (Gloria) Parisian, Luke Parisian, and the late Kenny Parisian; Donna (Gary) Coltrane, Margaret Parisian, Rose (Gus) Bacon, Bernie Parisian, and Veronica Parisian. These kids were her brother Ed and Sarah (Rosette) Parisian's kids and the Rosette-Parisian clan are double first cousins. Ed and Sarah and Dad and Mom lived as neighbors for many years and they will be together neighbors again as we lay her to rest next to each other in the Highland Cemetery in Havre.
