Olive M. Bauer, 85, passed away at her residence surrounded by her loving family due to natural causes on Saturday, June 23, 2018. Wake services will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 25, 2018, and will continue until her funeral service, which will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, all at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Olive was born on September 11, 1932, in Rocky Boy, to John and Philomene (Sandene) Champagne. She was raised in Rocky Boy, attending school there. In 1952, she married John J. Bauer, Jr. in Chinook, and the couple lived in Brockton for a few years before relocating to Havre, where they remained. The couple had twelve children, and Olive worked at various jobs, but mostly as a housekeeper for the local motels. After her children were grown, she helped raise her grandchildren so their parents could go to work. John passed away in 2006, and Olive enjoyed her time with her family.

She was an outgoing and outspoken woman who was very loving and giving, raising a close-knit family. She was a great cook, always providing a delicious meal. She was also very proud of her home and children, keeping both as clean as possible.

Olive was preceded in death by her husband John Bauer, Jr. in 2006; her daughters Kathy and Eldora Bauer; her son Jerry Dale Bauer; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; her parents John and Philomene Champagne; her sisters, Clara, Patty, Karen, Cecelia, Georgie, & Helen; and her brothers John Jr. "Little Johnny", Raymond "Jo Jo", Buddy, Walter, Buster, David "Tenus", & Gabe.

She is survived by her daughters, Ingrid "Debbie" Bauer of Havre, Karen (Rollie) Gramley of Billings, Clara Bauer of Havre, Terry Gayle Bauer of Great Falls, and Ionia Lohman, Audrey Bauer, and Thea Bauer, all of Havre; sons, Laurence "LJ" (Kim) Bauer, John Richard Bauer, and Bruce Wayne Bauer, all of Havre; 30 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchilden; 2 great-great-grandchildren; her sister Joy Bunton of Great Falls; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
