Obituary

Naomi Alice Daychild, "Northern Hummingbird", 18, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, November 30, 2021.  Wake services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 2, 2021, and will continue until her funeral service which will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, December 3, 2021, all at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church.  Burial will follow in the New Morsette Family Cemetery Cemetery.  Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Naomi was born on January 5, 2003, in Fort Hood, TX, to Henry and Senica (Morsette) Daychild, Jr.  She was raised in Rocky Boy from a young age, after living in Texas, Wyoming, and Kansas, attending school there, and was working on completing her GED at the time of her passing.  From 2018 until 2020, Naomi lived in Portland, Oregon, where she attended Centennial High School and worked at Fred Meyer as a gardener.

Naomi possessed an eclectic soul.  She was so laid-back, but still had a wild side.    She loved to cruise around and listen to all types of music, from hip hop to country to classic rock, with all of her friends and cousins.  Naomi's laugh and smile were so contagious that she would light up any room.  She was the life of the party for all of her nieces and nephews, and they simply adored her.  Naomi also loved to spend her time outdoors, especially playing basketball and hiking.  She also loved plants and spent as much time gardening as she could.  Naomi loved being an auntie, and helping everyone out.  She was more than willing to go out of her way.  Her family was everything to her, and she loved them to the fullest, showing her little brothers how to play basketball.  Naomi had a big, forgiving heart, and she refused to hold grudges.  During her last days, she expressed that she wanted everyone to know that she loved and forgave them all.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Elvira Daychild, Roberta Denny and Richard Morsette, Sr.; stepmother, Tamera Turner; aunt, Betty Jo Denny; and uncles, Dani Buffalo and Delwayne Denny.

Naomi is survived by her parents, Henry James (Katrina Crittenden) Daychild, Jr. of Great Falls and Senica Morsette of Rocky Boy; sisters, Roberta (Dakota Horn) Daychild of Portland, OR, and Leighloni (Vacinte McGillis) Daychild of Great Falls; brothers, Talis and Henry Daychild III, both of Great Falls; significant other, Trevor Standing Rock of Rocky Boy; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
