Michael Shayne Hanson, 40, passed away early morning on September 30 ^th , 2019. Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of Michael's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2019, at Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel. Michael's family has suggested memorial donations be made in his name to the Great Northern Area Special Olympics, 1224 2 ^nd Street, Havre, Mt 59501. He was born on February 25, 1979, in Malta to Jerry and Tammy (Bolechala) Hanson. To say Michael had a hard life is an understatement. Growing up in Havre, Michael was born with a heart condition that needed repair when he was three years old. Eleven months after that heart surgery he needed another heart surgery. There were complications during that surgery that left Michael with a brain injury. His parents cared for Michael for several years re-teaching him to feed himself, drink, and push a wheelchair. His mom did all of Michael's rehabilitation such as feeding tube, range of motion, and anything else he needed. Then Michael moved into a group home and has been in one ever since, though his family has been very involved in his life there. Michael has had several surgeries and procedures over the years but always pulled through. He was very strong-willed to keep going, even when most of us would not have. He was the best inspiration we ever had. Michael was so easy to please and make happy. His parents would take Michael cruising almost every weekend for a few hours and he would be so happy listening to his favorite music, drinking a Rod's pop and eating candy. No one ever loved a son more than his family loved Michael. He had an extraordinary love for MUSIC, and was a gentle soul who enjoyed all of the staff that worked within Havre Day Activity. We would like to thank all of the people that took such good care of Michael. Especially the staff at the Seventh Street Group Home these last couple of months and Bear Paw Hospice. He loved visiting his grandparents, sister, nephews-nieces, aunts-uncles, all extended family. The greatest gifts Michael ever taught or gave those who knew him was patience and unconditional love.

He is survived by his parents, Jerry and Tammy (Bolechala) Hanson; sister, Colleen Hanson (Chris Brown); nephews, Mason Daniel and Evan Brown; nieces, Trinity Brown and Jeri Brown; grandmothers, Alice (Henry) Hanson and Faye (Brown) Bolechala; together with many aunts and uncles, cousins, and extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jerry H. Hanson and Bill Bolechala; grandmother Suzie Drummond; uncle Kim Bolechala; cousin David Pankratz; and past beloved friends from 7 ^th Street home.
