Michael Jim Gardipee, "Eagle Child (PISIM AWASIS)", 37, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, June 28, 2023.  Wake services will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 30, 2023, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, and will continue until his traditional burial service, which will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2023, in the Smallville Family Cemetery.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.

Michael was born on January 21, 1986, in Havre to Vern and Athena (Jim) Gardipee.  He was raised in Rocky Boy, graduating from Rocky Boy High School in 2005.  Michael attended Stone Child College for a time, and then became a cashier for Northern Winz Casino.  There, he worked his way from cashier, to security, then became a floor walker, finally obtaining the position of bartender.

Michael was a kind man who enjoyed singing, traveling, and playing with his "mutts".  He adored his daughters, nieces, and nephews, and was very fun-loving with them.  Michael was a very traditional man who was proud of his culture and participated in all of the traditions.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Koda Gardipee; grandparents, Tom and Ruth Gardipee and Rosanna (Warner) Jim; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Michael is survived by his daughters, Emmersyn and Amariah McGuire; parents, Vern Gardipee, Sr., of Rocky Boy and Athena Jim of Havre; Verne Gardipee, Jr. of Toppenish, WA, Loverne (Arthur Whitford) Gardipee, Jordan (Raechel Scott) Gardipee, and Cecelia Gardipee, all of Rocky Boy, and Janel Gardipee of Toppenish, WA; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends, including the Favel, Small, DayChild, and Johnson families, and all of Little Bear's decendents.
