Maxine L. Folk, 75 of Havre passed away Tuesday, March 21,2017 at Northern Montana Hospital due to natural causes.  Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Holland and Bonine Funeral Chapel with Deacon Timothy Maroney officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Memorials in Maxine's name may be made to Saint Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church Parish Center or to the charity of the donor's choice. Holland and Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.

Maxine was born on July 28, 1941 in Havre to Leo and Ione (Converse) Drong.  She was raised in Havre and attended school there, graduating in 1959 from Havre Central High School. On September 26, 1959 Maxine married Joseph Peter Folk at Saint Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church. The union was blessed with four children and they raised them on the family farm near Kremlin.

Maxine worked as the school secretary in Kremlin as the kids attended school; after she and Joe moved to Havre in 1983 she provided child care. Caring for others was Maxine's gift and she loved all those she attended to.  She was very involved in the Saint Jude's Parish; she was a member of the Catholic Daughters, prayer shawl crochet circle, church choir and served and prepared many luncheons over the years.  She was also involved in the Red Hat Society. Maxine enjoyed spending time in the Bears Paw Mountains and often the family would go for picnics there.  She was a ferocious card player; her best was pinochle.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Joseph; her son, Michael; and her parents.

Maxine is survived by her children, Beth (David) George of Fountain Valley, AZ, Kathy (Amy Fladland) Folk of Missoula, MT, and Tim Folk of Havre; brother, Kenneth (Linda) Drong of Havre; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren, and two more on the way.
