Matt was born on July 15, 1992, in Havre, Montana to Genevieve "Gevi" Nez Perce and Leonard Weaving, Jr.  He was raised in Havre, Montana, during his elementary and Junior High school years.  As a child he lived in Fort Belknap Agency and Rocky Boy.  After his mother's death, he attended West High in Billings and Ronan High School in Ronan, he later received his GED.

Matt was a sports enthusiast and loved all sports.  His favorite football team was the Carolina Panthers.  He loved basketball and his favorite team was the Duke Blue Devils.  His favorite baseball team was Boston Red Sox.  He remembered players' names, jersey numbers, teams, coaches, the whole nine yards and could talk about sports with the best of them.  One of the highlights of his life was going with his uncle Tim, grandpa Leo, and Zack Rosette to a Broncos/Raiders game in Denver, Colorado.

He loved to listen to Joe Rogan on You-Tube and loved to tell everyone about his insights he thought important or newsworthy, and really enjoyed the competitive banter.  He enjoyed playing sports video games with his nephews and visiting his nieces.

Matt had a great personality and loved telling jokes and funny stories just like his Dad Lenny and always had everyone around him laughing. He loved rodeos and country music, some of his favorite singers were Easton Corbin "his cousin," Jon Pardi, Morgan Wallen just to name a few.

Matt worked for Island Mountain Development Group, New Rockford Bison Plant, Plain Green, Fort Belknap Kwik Stop.
