Obituary

Matias M. Riotutar, "Pimihawin kikiw napew" Soaring Eagle Man, 30 passed away at his residence on November 7, 2024.  Wake services will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, November 11, 2024, and will continue until his funeral service, which will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, all at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church with Kelly Eagleman officiating.  Burial will follow in the Summer Hill Drive Cemetery.  Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.  Matias will be deeply missed by all who knew him, remembered for his dedication to nature and his warm, compassionate spirit.

Matias was born on September 17, 1994, in Seattle, WA, to Taj Riotutar and Misty Healy.  He was raised in Rocky Boy, graduating from Rocky Boy High School in 2012.  Matias went on to attend Stone Child College, graduating with his associate's degree in carpentry.  He began seeing Stephanie Hobbs, and had two children with her before the couple separated.  Matias met the love of his life, Crystal Stamper, and the couple had three children together.  He worked as a wildland firefighter, and in various positions at Jitterbugs, working his way up to bartender.

Matias was a kind-hearted, easy-going man who loved to laugh and joke.  He was upbeat and loved to cheer people up who were having a hard time.  He played basketball for Stone Child College, and his love of sports was carried on to his adult life.  He continued playing basketball, baseball, and most recently kickball.  He also loved to watch his Seattle Seahawks and play Call of Duty on his PS5.  Matias absolutely adored his wife and children, and all of his Jitterbugs family.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandmothers, Agnes Daychild and Helen Molina; great-grandfathers, Rafael Matias Riotutar, Sr. and Danny Molina; grandparents, Valerie Penny Denny and George Molina; aunt, Tashina Molina; and uncle, Dustin Cochran.

Matias is survived by his wife, Crystal Stamper, of Rocky Boy; children, Aleigha and Sophia Riotutar, Hazelynn Stamper, and Maximus and Sebastian Riotutar; parents, Taj (Kenzie Sangrey) Riotutar and Misty (Darcy Azure) Healy, all of Rocky Boy; brothers, Anthony, Matthew, and Raymond Azure, Nicholas Parker, and Loren Lee Riotutar; sisters, Winter Poet Parker, and Nicole and Jayla Riotutar; grandparents, Yvonne Molina, Bruce (Linda) Riotutar, Gerald Bear, Sr., Garren Denny, Peggy (Domie) Aquino, Del Ray Molina, and Barb Sutherland, Brian Molina; great-grandmother, Mary Rose St. Pierre Riotutar; aunts, Shawna Lamere, Sandra Healy, Adrienne, Lynette, and Jelisa Bear, Roberta Matt, Nicole (Babz) Demontiney, and Samantha and Chelsea Riotutar; uncles, Matthew (Erin) Riotutar, Traci, Jermaine, and Gerald Bear, Jr., Dylan Potter, Cedar and Jordan Denny, Aaron (Alicia), Neil (Amanda), and Eli (Liz) Aquino; parents-in-law, Brooke Sutherland and Darren Johnson; and sisters-in-law, Taylor, Ronnie, and Alana Johnson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family and friends.
