Obituary

Mary M. White, 75, of Hingham, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2012, at Benefis Medical Center in Great Falls due to complications from a car accident. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 30, 2012, at the Hingham Lutheran Church with Pastor Larry Horinek officiating. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery in Havre at 3:00 that afternoon. The family has requested that memorials be made in Mary's name to the Hingham Park. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements. Mary was born on July 20, 1937, in Havre to William and Mary (Gray) Brown. She grew up and attended school in Columbus and Havre. On January 18, 1957, she married James D. White in Cut Bank. The couple made their home in Hingham, and their union was blessed with three children. Mary was very active in the Hingham Lutheran Church, serving on the Church Board, active in the Church Circle, teaching Sunday School, and serving as the Sunday School Superintendent for a time. She enjoyed crafting, crocheting, and sewing. Mary taught crafts in the Hingham school when her children were younger, and gave sewing lessons at home. She loved her family, and she was especially proud of her grandchildren and their accomplishments. She was very generous with her time, whether dog-sitting or grandma-sitting, and she absolutely loved buying meaningful gifts for her family for special occasions so they didn't just open a card with money in it. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Billy Brown, Helen Field, Dorothy Yates, and Donald Brown. She is survived by her husband James D. White of Havre; her son Steven (LaNay) White of Hingham; her daughters Lauri (Charles) Chvilicek of Hingham and Daina Mereness of Edmonds, WA; her grandchildren, Alex, Adam, and Cade Chvilicek and Wendy and James White, all of Hingham, Aidan Mereness of Edmonds, WA, Thad (Robyn) Burkhartsmeyer of Hingham, and Trevin (Tiaya) Burkhartsmeyer and Shilo (Matthew) Johnson, all of Helena; her great-grandchildren, Christopher and Brooke Burkhartsmeyer of Hingham, and Caycen and Cidney Burkhartsmeyer and Braden Johnson, all of Helena; and numerous nieces and nephews.
