Marvin was born on January 1, 1948, at home, but due to weather conditions, the family made it to the hospital on January 11, which became the date listed on his birth certificate. Marvin attended Job Corps tech schools for welding, but he learned automotive repair on his own. He spent the majority of his life in Rocky Boy, but worked for Headman Headers for a few years in Great Falls, and then returned home to work for Rocky Boy Manufacturing. Marvin built his own shop to work on his automotive trade, fixing tires and miscellaneous jobs in the early eighties. He later worked for the Water Resource Department on the Bonneau Dam Project, East Fork Dam Project, and Brown Dam Project. Marvin worked all his life, retiring from the security department of the Northern Winz Casino to finally stay home with his daughter Tina and her children.
Marvin enjoyed working on cars, traveling, camping, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He taught many people how to work on cars, especially his children.
He was preceded in death by his son, Mike St. Marks; parents, Gilbert and Irene (Swan) Belcourt; brothers, Gilbert M. "Popeye" Belcourt, John E. Saltzman, Martin R. Belcourt, and Harley "Hawks" Belcourt; and sisters, Darlene A. Freeman, Marie A. Mock, Shirley A. Meyers, and Irene L. Parisian.
Marvin is survived by his children, Marvin N. (Annette) Belcourt, Thomas Belcourt, and Michael (Tina) Belcourt; daughters, Holly Diamante and Tina (Mike Sutherland) Belcourt; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Roberta Randall and Carla Striker, both of Rocky Boy, and Vera Lack of Polson; brothers, George Belcourt, Sr. and Richard Belcourt; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family and friends.
