Obituary

Marlene left her earthly body to go to her Heavenly home on January 14, 2020. Marlene was surrounded by so many "favorite" loved ones as she joined her husband Leo in Heaven. There is a celebration of Life on Saturday, January 18th at the Van Orsdel United Methodist Church at 3PM.

Marlene was born December 4, 1951 to John and Donna Bahr in Havre, Montana. She was raised in Havre, spending a great deal of time at the family homestead north of Chinook. Marlene completed her high school education at Havre High School and later graduated from cosmetology school in Havre. She loved doing hair and working with her good friend Donna for several years. Marlene was made for taking care of people. She really had a very nurturing sole. She was a confidant and truly listened with her whole heart. Compassion ran deep in her veins. These beautiful gifts with which she was blessed made her the perfect person for her final job at the Northern Montana Care Center from which she retired. She started the job as a CNA and then moved into a Ward Clerk position. Working in a nursing home in not for the faint of heart, but she wore it as a badge of honor.

Marlene and Leo met in April of 1975, and after a whirlwind romance, they were married on May 31, 1975. They shared an AGAPE love which resulted in a home with 6 children. That being said, every niece, nephew, cousin or friend's children were their children too.   They always had their doors wide open and invited people from all walks of life. Marlene had a God-given, amazing ability to know exactly what you needed. It may have been a butt chewing or a hug, but mostly both. When Marlene was not working, she loved to make amazing family dinners big enough to feed an army. Even during her final time at the Care Center, many of the staff would stop for a visit or a place to just take a break. She was always the hostess with the most-ess.

Marlene is survived by her children Maurice (Peggy) Austin of Missoula, Leo Allen Teske of Columbus, Chellie (Shawn) Teske-Kissell of Butte, Nickole (Randy) Blake of Kalispell, and Torie Teske of Havre. Leo and Marlene also adopted their two granddaughters Kelly Teske and Katie (Christopher) Vukasin, both of Havre. Marlene's children gave her multiple grandchildren, Suzette, Chris, Angela and Jessica Austin, George II and Satchel Gordon, Jesse and Justin Genetzky, Haley Kincaid, Kenneth and Rylyne Teske, CheraLee Cunningham, Josh Wenger, Caleb Blake, and Ashlynn Vukasin, and many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Kristine Bahr of Powell, Wyoming, Rhonda (George) Leahy of Spring Creek, Nevada, Jeff (Lorrie) Bahr of Yorkville, Illinois , and Patti (Calvin) Cook of Helena, Montana, and many nieces and nephews.

Marlene is preceded in death by her husband Leo; their daughter Cheri; and parents John and Donna Bahr.

The family of Leo and Marlene would like to extend our thanks and gratitude for all the loving care that they both received at the Northern Montana Care Center, especially to their dear friend Judy Solomon.
