Mark Allen Gardipee, Ko Skah Si Osh Piyeso “Green Thunderbird”, 48, passed away due to natural causes on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at St. Paul Hospital in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Wake service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, and will continue until his traditional funeral, which will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2026, all at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the New Rocky Boy Cemetery. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Mark was born on December 17, 1977, in Havre to Allen Gardipee and Roberta Peyachew. He was raised in Rocky Boy, attending school there. As a young boy, Mark was diagnosed with diabetes, but that didn’t keep him from playing sports. He excelled in football, basketball, and track & field. In 1996, he was voted Male Athlete of the Year. In 2024, Mark relocated to Saskatoon, where he lived his remaining time on earth. There, he nurtured a relationship with his significant other, Celicia Moosomin.

Mark was an outgoing, friendly young man with a great sense of humor who made friends easily. He enjoyed the Sundance, Pow Wow, and all ceremonies, and he was raised Catholic by his parents.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Roberta Peyachew; and several aunts and uncles.

Mark is survived by his sons, Brian Thomas Moya and Markies Nathaniel Moosomin; father, Allen Gardipee, Sr.; brothers, Allen Gardipee, Jr. and Alonzo Gardipee; his adopted mother who stepped up to help raise him when his mother passed away, Pauline Standing Rock; his significant other, Celicia Moosomin; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
