Marilyn Joyce (Alex) Lang, 81, of Gildford, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Northern Montana Hospital due to natural causes. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Highland Cemetery with Ila McClenahan officiating. Marilyn was born May 5, 1935 to Anthony and Verda (Noremburg) Alex in Hingham, Montana. She is the second child of eight children. She attended school in Havre. She worked as a telephone operator at MSTT in Havre. In August of 1952, she married Grant (Bud) Lang. Marilyn and Bud raised 4 children; Margaret, Gail, Cathy, And John.
Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved baking, cooking, and sewing. She made many afghans, baby blankets and other hand-made items for the family that they still treasure. But she is known most for her passion for cross-word puzzles.
She is survived by Bud, her husband of 64 years, of Gildford, MT; her children, Margaret (Bill) Bjorklund of Phoenix, AZ, Gail (Mark) Aspevig of Rudyard, Cathy (LaNay) Kapperud of Gildford, and John Lang of Phoenix, AZ; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Cheryl (Bob) Evans of Havre and Pam (Ben) Essary of Stevensville, MT; brothers, Allan (Gail) Alex of Havre and John (Diane) Alex of Casper, WY.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Carly Matter, 3 brothers, Ed, Dennis and Tom Alex.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
