Obituary

Margaret Alice Twedt Petrick was born on October 21, 1920, and passed away on October 8, 2025, just 13 days shy of her 105th birthday.

She was born at the Twedt homestead south of Rudyard to Bert and Esther (Klemetson) Twedt. They moved up to the Twedt farm north of Hingham when she was two weeks old. She went to a one room country school for 1st – 3rd grade, then the family moved into town for the winter so the kids could go to school. She played women's basketball all through high school. She graduated in 1938 from Hingham High School. After graduation she moved to Great Falls where she clerked at the dime store and later went to beauty school in Spokane. Margaret was a beautician in Circle, MT for two years.

Margaret joined the Women's Army Corp in 1943; she served 3 years at the second service command headquarters in New York City. She was honorably discharged in 1946 with the rank of Sargent. She then returned to Hingham and married Robert Petrick on September 28, 1946. Robert and Margaret welcomed twin boys Ron and Terry in 1947, followed by Bruce, Barb, and Ray Edward.

Margaret and Robert spent many wonderful years together attending the kids' sporting events, playing bridge, golfing and square dancing, bowling and meeting with family and friends. In their retirement years they wintered in AZ and traveled around the U.S. visiting the kids, a trip to Europe, and cruises to Alaska, Hawaii, and the Panama Canal.

She is survived by her five children: Ron (Debby), Terry, Bruce, Barb, and Ray (Lynn), three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, sister Ethel, brother Lowell (Gladys) and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, parents Bert and Esther Twedt, brother Lloyd, and granddaughter Brooke.
