Mamie R. Swallow, 97, passed away June 12, 2018 of natural causes at the Missouri River Medical Center in Fort Benton. Cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Mamie was born September 10, 1920 in Spring Lake, MN, to William and Theresa (Mischke) Schwenke. She married Aaron D. Swallow in 1935, and for many years the couple owned Rocky Mountain Packing.

She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-eight years, Aaron D. Swallow; an infant son in 1941; granddaughter Rhonda Swallow; parents William and Theresa Schwenke; brothers, Henry and Herbert Schwenke; and sisters, Dora Goodson, Louise Burke and Helen Norman.

She is survived by daughters, Laura (Art) Fanning of Farmington, WA, Janet (Pat) Roche, Council Bluffs, IA, and Judith Gebhardt of Fort Benton; son, David (Linda) Swallow of Havre; six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Betty Munson of Havre, and Lucille Hasler of Raton, NM.
